Is this just my kid's photo pasted into a template?
No. Your child's photo is used as a likeness reference, not a cutout. Every illustration is generated fresh for your child in the art style you picked, and the story text is written around the specific details you give us — it isn't the same stock sentences with a name swapped in. No two books are alike.
Do I have to approve the book before it prints?
Yes, always. After we write and illustrate your child's book, you'll get a private, watermarked proof to review page by page. Nothing goes to the printer — and nothing is charged for printing — until you say yes.
What if I don't like a page?
You get two free regenerations per book — you can redo specific pages or the whole thing. If you're still not happy after the first redo, we'll ask you to upload a different reference photo before the second, since likeness usually comes down to the photo we're working from.
Does the story have to rhyme?
No — that's your choice at order time. Rhyming verse gives you four-line stanzas with a sing-song beat, which most young kids love reading aloud. Gentle prose is flowing sentences with no rhyme at all, which tends to suit bedtime and slightly older children better. You'll see which one you picked on the review screen before you pay.
What is the song add-on?
An original song written for your child, from the same answers the book is built on — their name in the chorus, their favourite colour and their dog in the verses. You pick the style at checkout: lullaby, folk singalong, happy pop, or storybook orchestral. It's about two minutes long, and we write and record it once your proof is approved. You'll get it as an MP3 in your portal, and it's yours to keep.
How long does it take?
Most books are ready for your approval within a couple of days of checkout. Printed copies ship after you approve the proof.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes — choose the gift option at checkout to add a note and, if you like, time the reveal for a birthday or holiday.
What do you do with the photos I upload?
They're used only to generate your child's book — as a likeness reference for the illustrations, and to help us spot specific details (like a favourite toy) to include. We never use real brand logos in illustrations, even if one appears in your photo.
